Professional Development – DRAFT
Professional Development for EYW I: Engineering Design and Analysis
We were excited to host three professional development institutes for EYW I: Engineering Design and Analysis in Austin during the summer of 2017. Delivered by our experienced consulting teachers, these sessions ask our new teachers to alternate between wearing their “student hat” and “teacher hat” as they work their way through the entire course in just two weeks. Our professional development:
- Engages teachers in authentic engineering practices;
- Enhances pedagogical content knowledge for project-based instruction;
- Facilitates collaborative strategic planning; and
- Establishes the communities of practice that enable successful implementation.
Dates for 2018 professional development institutes will be announced in the spring of 2018.
